Default Is MIDI sent from Akai EWI4000 Wind Controller correct?

Hi all, I am using an Akai EWI to control VSTi's but not being a genius I can't find out what the wind Instrument is sending. So I got MIDI Monitor and played a few notes-WOW!-what a lot of data, could it be that my EWI is broken and sending way too much data? see attachment

I've got he old model, like the original 1000!!!

Now, I haven't played it in more than a decade, but I remember it sending a lot of data out. Enough to make it real hard to slave some external modules and synths. So I'm guessing what you're seeing is accurate.
    wait...what?

Yes it's fine it's all from breathcontrol. Only odd thing is it's sending it's breathcontroler data as expression data too, which is handy if you need it. I use a simple yamaha breathcontroler and a yamaha windcontroler so I have no idea if you can maybe change it's behaviour to only sending breath or expression. It probably also sends some lip/embouchure data, which is pitchbend on my yamaha.

I was always curious to see if the response would be better with more modern gear. My old modules sucked as slaves. Notes would hang and wouldn't trigger in time....

Maybe I'll hook up the 'ol pipe and try it out with a new MIDI interface and VSTi....
    wait...what?
