Hi Animus
OK ... I'll be getting to work to make a tune to dedicate, but for now ...
Belly Dance (http://www.glynmuir.co.uk/ViolinAndDarbuka.mp3)
If it were a 'tune' just to be listened to, then the final 15 seconds would have been tagged on about 2:50
As it is, the dancer finishes her main presentation but around 3:05, eyeballs ONE member of the audience and reprises the theme close up one-to-one before 'returning' to the main group for finale and finish.
Respect and best wishes to you.
Glyn

You are hilarious Zenda! Of course we could use a cubendo theme song.
Nice work btw. Your music is right up my alley. Do you play the double violin? And darbuka?

I love anything that is played with feeling, and that's why the violin is such a passionate instrument, well done Glyn.

Hi Stacy and Larry
Glad you like it. My relevant background is that I used to play guitar in a Bollywood Cover band and we'd gig a lot at the School of Oriental and Asian Studies ... an arm of London University, England. It became a meeting ground and melting pot/salad bowl and we'd often find ourselves forced/encouraged to join in each others' acts. I did not play darbuka, but often a belly dancer and 'her' darbuka player would turn up and it was my job to be as 'ood'ish as possible on my electric guitar.
In this peice, I used a standard western violin .. the only one I have ever played, and the darbuka is 'Wizoo Darbuka' ... a sampleset glued together into a VSTi format.
I had a listen to your music, Stacy and it's definitely up my alley, I enjoyed it a LOT.
FWIW, Transglobal Underground, Natacha Atlas and Dead Can Dance have been a strong influence on me.
All the best

Hi Glyn,
I see: You have your highly visible signature again!:D
Good violin performance here - very unusual and slightly orientalic sounding. And ... yes, I like it. Great work! :).

Hi Thonex
Thank you for your kind words ... I Do have a bit more violin .. different style ... a birthday song I did for a friend in which I am working in, well, I suppose it would be called 'blues violin' style .... I will post it here tomorrow.
All the best
Glyn
