Tascam updates FW drivers for 64 bit OS

Just released recently: the Tascam FW-1884 1.70 driver which fixes the issue of pops & crackles on 64 bit OS with over 4 GB installed RAM.

It works great in both Vista and XP64.

If you have no sound after the upgrade, go to Mon Mix mode, press the clock button and make sure that you have the monitor set to either "computer" or "both".

So if you own an FW-1884 or an FW-1082, get the new driver.

That's just the kind of information that makes this place great. Thanks for providing that. I don't even have a Tascam interface (or any Tascam products), yet my hat's off to you for posting that.

Tascam support has been spotty the past few years, so this was big news for me. I was using a kludge to get my system working without glitches, and now I have set aside the kludge for a proper driver.
