I figure the best way to get it is to get an SSL front end. Instead of a Duende or a UAD plugin, I decided to go for this:

In the next days/weeks, I will do some A/B/C testing that might be of interest. My Alpha Channel arrives tomorrow, and I already have a Mini-Me and a UA Solo/610. I may do some testing between them to see the differences.

Some useful specs:

Frequency response: Mic to out: +/- 0.2 db 10 Hz to 70 KHz
-3db - 6 Hz
-3db - 250 KHz

Awesome. A wire, with gain...and a digital I/O!

Congratulations!... great hardware! :icon_cool:

But... usualy I'd like to use 'a few' more channel strips :D

That's why I prefer this:

I have worked a few times with an E-series 4000 desk (about 15 years ago), and was completely confused when I did my first mix with these plug-ins in Cubase in januari 2007... I just couldn't believe this sound was possible without analoge outboard....
Never did any production without them since then :icon_cool:
The Master Buss Compressor is great assistant in mix balance, while the channel strips are there in most drum and guitar channels. :icon_cool:
