Any other suggestions , let me know.
DAW ONLY here BTW, no gaming or video concerns
Are you running any UAD cards?
If not, either board should suit you fine. Of course, if you're not going to install a 64-bit OS, you will be wasting anything above 4 GB.
The Asus board will look nicer if you plan on showing off the guts, since it has more bright lights on it.

No but I would like to add a UAD2 in the future
Okay, I had a problem that was specific to UAD-1 cards in a Magma chassis, but a UAD-2 should work on either motherboard.
I have a Gigabyte EX58-UD3R board that is basically new, but burned in and tested. If you're interested in that, I can save you a big chunk of change.

Hey D (Bill?)
Which one is suitable for a UAD1?
Thanks
Vincent
Well, I ended up using the Asus P6T Deluxe, not the V2, although that should work also. That will hold 2 UAD-1 cards.
FYI the Tascam drivers will not work with anything over 4 GB of RAM, unless you like listening to pops & crackles.

Im leaning towards the ASUS here so far. thanks for the posts.
Ill keep that MB you have D in my brain here as Im looking. htaks for hte offer BTW. I kinda want 3 of the PCIe 2.0 x 16 slots though
Keep in mind you cannot have 3 dual processor graphics cards in a single machine, so you will be limited to 3 single processor cards, should you decide that you need such power. Otherwise, you will get better performance from 2 dual processor cards.

I'm running 2 UAD-1 PCIe cards, an M-Audio Profire 2626 (on the internal TI chipset Firewire) and a RME HDSP card (Digiface) on my Gigabyte EX58-UD3R with a I7 920 overclocked to 3.2 gig, 6 gig Patriot 1600 ram, Vista 64 Ultimate and, so far, it's rock solid.

Although it's not supported, i run M-Powered Pro Tools 7.4 in Visat 64 (although it's mainly for doing transfers).
