Just a suggestion, I guess that a lot of folks will come here looking for technical discussion and support on Cubase and Nuendo, it would seem to me that most of this would land in the "General Discussion" forum. Would it make sense to have a section that was setup solely for tech questions answers and discussion only? It may make it easier for forum members if they can browse though posts and discussions that pertain only to nuts and bolts stuff without being mixed in with more general topics?

Sorry for being vague...:p

I meant posts on software use and functionality, the kind of nuts and bolts stuff of using Cubase/Nuendo. I guess it would fall into general discussion, it's just me being a boffin...

Let's see how it plays out rather or not we need other Cubendo related subforums, maybe a newbie and advanced forums or something to separate the simple entry level stuff from the more complicated.

Links to new technologies such as demos and the like I reckon would be good to foster development all round ie., VST's etc so many companies develop for the VST format it would be a shame to ignore, technical articles as well (mostly 3rd party) would be cool.

Just some ideas. O'reilly have good stuff on making synthesisers and that for those who are interested. I can post the links if anyone wants

Honestly, I like the generality of these forums it is nice to come to a place and not be pidgeonholed in any way.

I think trying to keep it that way is the best approach and I know I suggested typical Nuendo/Cubase subforums, which I still think might be a good idea but only in addition to what already exists.

In other words if something is dropped into the General Discussion Forum but which it is obviously Cubase specific, save clutter in the General page and move it to the application specific sub-forum.

I suppose if there were app specific forums open to everyone then the General one would probably not get used much and again this would detract from the overall open nature of this place, so maybe if you do decide to have anything specific other than what exists now, possibly allow only moderators to create new topics and other's answer them.

They are only my thoughts but as you have said it's best to wait and see.

There is no such thing as "Cubase specific", unless you are talking about bugs, and I can't actually think of any of those that don't also appear in Nuendo.

No, but the operations are different, as the only example I can think of is there is no input gain in CS4.

That's Cubase Studio, which is a crippled version of Cubase.

The trouble is that there are too many cheap versions of Cubase that you would need at least three extra different sections to cover them all.

They exist here:

No need to emulate, just trying to help work out what is the best way for this forum.
