Haven't tried this but some users are using this little adaptor to increase RAM usage up to 4GB per plugin in a 32-bit host and OS.

More detail in this thread here (http://www.soundsonline-forums.com/showthread.php?t=19604) and the adaptor itself is found here (http://www.kvraudio.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=244999&postdays=0&postorder=asc&start=0)

Not sure how much is in it, but it might be worth keeping an eye on as it develops....

Hey Brett,

Thanks for the heads up.. :-)

There are a few flavours, the primary plug was just basically replacing the VSTbridge /BITbridge in Cubase 64 / SONAR 64, but the most interesting one for those not wanting to dabble with X64 versions of the apps is bridging x86 plugins to x86 hosts- Cubase 32 / SONAR 32 running in a 64 bit O.S , not 32 bit O.S's as you noted , in a 32 bit O.S it would only be 2GB per instance, and you would hit the wall pretty fast due to the total RAM limitation in x86.

The warning is that it will place a large overhead on the system , so it will be interesting what that overhead is.

Definately one to watch , and the larger devs should hang their head in shame that they hadn't offered it first..

One of the majors needs to pick this boy up....
