Christian Bale seems to have hung out with some of the vocalists I've worked with. (http://www.tmz.com/2009/02/02/bale-went-ballistic/)
:098:
ahh, I mean
:jawdrop:
Here is the remix.

Wow....well it strikes me that there are 4 categories here:
1 -professionalism of not ruining a take, then there's
2- professionalism of not ruining a day by being a prima donna with anger management issues,
3 - then there is prima dona-ism that thinks 1 and 2 revolve around them,
4 - then there's Bale....

Wow, what a coincidence. My client just played that for me before leaving our studio about 1 hour ago!
He also played this one which you may have seen before....:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n4uTGvTFzyQ&feature=related
And then this one is even better, especially the second half when the director finally has had enough - check out the girl at the right by the door.....:

Now THAT is how you handle "talent" :D

I think the coke wore off , mixed in with a high dose of head up his own arse Prima Donnaism, as well as the pressure of Heath getting all the limelight on the last Batman, is started to show some cracks ...
Man, I hope that movie flops now.. :piss2:

man what an asshole. I mean I had heard rumors that he was an ass but that was above my expectations. lol I heard Nicole Kidman is supposed to be a total bitch too.
I've met CB before. He is a nice guy when he isn't working but a bit stand offish.
It is ironic.
He loves acting, hates the fame.
That outburst happened 2 days before he was arrested for abuse.
Something must have been going on.

I actually think he did quite a good job... he did say "you're a nice guy but....."
that's fairly thoughtful in a moment of anger :D
well, more than a moment really.
In fact , it was good to see he could hold that level of for so
long over next to nothing.
Lilly Tomlin getting called a c*nt was also very cool.
I've gotta add, wealthy, successful people calling each other names
doesn't figure high on my outrage meter, but does make me smile.
Of course, start calling ME names and I'll climb right in there and
kick your f*cking ass (notice the CB influence) :willy_nilly:
funny how life imitates art
or the other way round
or forums imitate spoilt brats etc......:098:
so just remember,
don't f*ck with me
or I'll start leaving the "u" in F*ckface.
Well, David O Russel is a complete ass from what I understand.
Apparently on the set of 3 kings, he was blasting the crew and George Clooney stepped in and told him to treat his crew better to which david responded, "Fuck you".
Apparently Clooney was going to walk but the producers settled things down.
I guess after filming David sent a letter to Clooney stating, "Fuck you you pussy."

Russel is a no talent douchebag anyway. I Heart Huckabees was such pretentious crap and wannabe Wes Anderson.

You guys remember that audio of Yngwei Malmsteen losing it at the stewardess on a flight? classic
I think there is an awful lot of:
1. People making judgment calls about a situation they only have a portion of, with very little context.
2. There is an awful lot of pressure to conform to BORG-like social norms (ex. people giving Mike Phelps such as ass-reaming for taking a bong hit).
3. Hypocrisy.
I wasn't there. Obviously someone who had something to gain felt that this was their moment to take someone down with bad publicity. I wonder how much that person was able to sell this tape for?
We've allowed the media hacks and paparazzi and the political correctness of our BORG-leaning society to dictate to people how they should act or behave, and in the process, we are destroying the individuality (whether you personally find it palatable or not) of people who do not fit the social norms. Instead, we have learned to punish them, take away their potential to earn a living, vilified them socially, and we are forcing people to act in a way which benefits the collective, but not the individual.
Is it any wonder we have mothers murdering their infant children, or school children shooting each other?
"Strength is irrelevant. Resistance is futile. We wish to improve ourselves. We will add your biological and technological distinctiveness to our own. Your culture will adapt to service ours."
"I am Locutus of Borg. Resistance is futile. Your life as it has been is over. From this time forward, you will service us."
"We are the Borg. Lower your shields and surrender your ships. We will add your biological and technological distinctiveness to our own. Your culture will adapt to service us. Resistance is futile."
Most of you will find these words rather chilling, and yet the overwhelming response I have seen to Christian Bale's outburst (not just here) seem to be geared in this same fashion towards assimilation.
I find this trend disturbing, and have found it so for some time.

Regardless D, Bale's was an asshole in his overblown response. Nothing should warrant that kind of insane outburst. I would say Bale was not being very professional at all as shit happens and it's how you handle the situation that defines you. If you think not being an asshole is being assimilated by the Borg than more power to you man.
I went ballistic at work one time on this Producer. Totally lost it cussing and raising hell, no where near Bale though. Although she was totally in the wrong and was the provocateur I felt really embarrassed afterwards as two other colleagues happened to be there as well. I apologized to her even though she was being a total bitch as my reaction was disproportionate to her "transgression". We worked fine together after that since I changed my attitude and maybe she was a lot more cautious on what she said to me. :D
I find this trend disturbing, and have found it so for some time.
D, I understand your point in general about the tabloid-esque nature of publicizing these outbursts for public "entertainment" (poor reason for sure) - and we did get sucked into it.
But to me it's troubling that the arugment would seem to suggest dismissing such an extreme outburst as "misunderstood". There is no question it was unprofessional, un-called for and disturbing in and of itself. I'm not boycotting his movies because of it, but if I were hiring an A-list actor... I would think twice, or maybe just once.
But we do need to hold even our glorified, idolized and worshiped actors, actresses, music and sports stars to the same high standard we would a checkout clerk at Walmart, but we don't. In any other professional or blue collar industry, business or corporate environment, he most likely would have been fired for that. But the more you get paid, the more free passes you get. Pretty sad imo.
Phelps is getting a put through the ringer, but at the same time - come on, I work hard to make good choices and not endanger my business, reputation, or family - surely he is capable of doing the same. I'm all for forgiving people when they make a mistake and apologize for it - as it should be - but there are consequences for every mistake, and just because someone is famous doesn't excuse them from those consequences.

Well the bottom line is money, isn't it?
Big stars "get away with" stuff because they bring in $$$$$.
And shit-shows like TMZ expose their "dirt" because it brings in $$$$$.
Phelps? Smoking some weed? Bfd. However, they built him up to be a "hero" and a "saint" and a "superhuman" - because it makes $$$$. And then they try to tear him down... because it makes $$$$
You know what it's all about yet?.....
Of course we know, but that isn't a good excuse, and that's all it is - an excuse.

Great guitar player, but he is a TRUE Asshole. I don't know if he has had and humble pie yet or not.

Overblown, perhaps. Perhaps it was the best take of his career, ruined by an idiot who could not behave professionally on the set. Perhaps that was the last in a series of screw ups that simply sent him over the edge. Perhaps he was so into character, that it was simply an extension of that. Since you're not a gifted actor (that we know of), you don't really know. There are a lot of possibles that you have obviously not thought about, and I see this more and more, although usually from people with a lot less in the intelligence dept.
To say you know what was warranted or not seems to me a bit of hubris.
Now, I agree that his outburst seems overblown, but again, you were not there, nor was I, and putting forth such a judgment as if you were seems just as much into the asshole (when you assume you make an ASS of you and me) spectrum as his outburst seems to you. No offense, that's just how I see it.

The real issue here is that marijuana, though FAR less damaging than the LEGAL alcohol, is illegal, isn't it?
But seriously, when was the last time YOU enjoyed a bit of hemp...or alcohol (which, if you might remember was subject to the same sort of stupidity as marijuana not so long ago)? When was the last time you cracked open a brewski or had a martini?
;)
Oh, and seriously, to whom does he "owe" an apology?
The guy won more gold medals than anyone else in history.
However, they built him up to be a "hero" and a "saint" and a "superhuman" - because it makes $$$$.
Last time I checked, it was Phelps who won those gold medals. Every single one of them. He built himself.

I haven't lost any respect for the guy. Nobody here has any idea of the weeks or months of background frustrations that led up to this.
Lex, I loved the remix video you linked. Clever, and with a great hook. Adding Striesand for some interplay was a nice touch, too.
I watched it twice with my wife and we laughed our asses off.

I'm talking about making him into more than he is. He's human. Humans smoke weed.

I still disagree. you act as if these actors and politicians are above the law and get free passes. It's pretty obvious what happened. The DP didn't walk actually in camera but was walking behind the director's chair. Bale was facing that direction. I have worked on a movie before and we had to move around during takes depending on what needed to happen or if something unexpected came up. If Bale can't zone out the crew behind the 4th wall that tells you something about his professionalism. Regardless his response was way overblown even if the DP was being inconsiderate. Besides the fact it's pretty well-known that Bale is very hard to work with. And perhaps you missed that episode of being arrested for the assault of his mother. lol I know, I don't know the circumstance so I can't judge since it could be justifiable to go bezerk on your mother. lol :icon_rolleyes:

In the end , no matter what happened, the sheeple will believe what ever they want to believe..
Next...
Well, I was taking to one of our Producers who said it is an absolute NO, NO for crew to be moving around in the line of site of the actors.
Especially in an emotional scene.
Apparently this DP has been known to do this kind of stuff on other films as well and before on Terminator.

I just realized that he's a real bad actor. For the first time he's not acting and -for the first time- he's F *** bloody….. F**** convincing!!!!
