Many other forums are constructed and run in a very patriarchal manner,
something which I believe was not intented at cubendo.

Being new to a forum is challenging enough without having the handicap of
a large flashing light attached to ones head, with the words New Member
or Junior Member on it.

After some undisclosed number of transactions or period of time the status
Member is graciously bestowed on the contributor.

Those with probably rather more than a healthy amount of time to spend
in the forum eventually receive Senior Member status.

A few who may very probably be the direct decendants of Methuselah, are
referred to as Grand Senior Members. I don't know what the status level
is after that, perhaps Galactic Overlord Member?

In any event I would be glad of the simple courtesy of being referred to as
a Member. Nothing more and nothing less!

.. thats actually a good point re the membership status, I don't think anyone here is a junior.., some may act that way, but thats beside the point..:D

I +1 to drop the "Junior" as well .. :icon30:

I vote it starts at "Newbie"

Your member status among your peers at this forum is far more relevant to your post content than to any title based on post count.
For example, complaining about a "junior" tag as a new member is below you...

Right. It also kind of gives an indication of who is larger contributers as well.

I suppose Junior could be replaced with "New".

Good idea Lex. New Member sounds good.

+1 on New Member here as well. It's a good reminder for us to welcome new people, if for no other reason. And, to that end, welcome to the forum, shelter!

Apparently shelter will not be happy with "New" either... :icon_rolleyes:
This whole request comes off as petty and pompous.

.. New Member is cool..., but only if its time limited and not via post IMO..

Some guys do not post anywhere near as much as others, and can still be a valuable contributor with just a few posts .., so being New for years could be a bit long in the tooth if by posts.

i.e, It took me 2 years to pass 100 posts at G.S...

You could just scale the status starting at Member , that could be another alternative..

In the end , it doesn't matter either way.

Honestly, I'm cool with "Junior-Member".

I do work in the music industry:eusa_wall:, but as a technical engineer:smash: not an audio engineer:sleeping:. So Junior member is more fitting, as I make a living doing something else, not using Nuendo:willy_nilly:. I use Nuendo pretty regular(everyday), but still probably nowhere near what some of you guys do.

It doesn't sound that way to me. I agree that the "junior/new member," "member," "grand senior member," etc. seem somewhat embarrassingly irrelevant. I don't see any reason to have any such designators. If anybody is interested in judging a poster's status by the number of posts he's made, it's easy enough to just look at how many posts are shown under his name.

Just my 2 cents.

It was funny for awhile to insiders, but it has since become irrelevant.
We don't want anyone aspiring to getting themselves banned from Steinberg sites intentionally just to think it gives them "street cred" around here.
Just like this thread emphasizes, labels just aren't that important.

This place is starting to take itself way too seriously, just like the official sites.:icon_rolleyes::098::iconyfcys3::nono:

Think so? You would have already been killed for saying such insolence if this was the other forums. We will just torture you here. :spank:
