Just thought Id quote these before they disappear or something

As announced, there will be another maintenance update to Nuendo4 (which fixes the solo/mute bug and many others), and then we should see Nuendo 5 coming.
By that time, Cubase5 will also have recieved a maintenance update, so we should be "safe".
I dare to say that this version of Cubase5 *already is* very stable, so it looks good.

and
thanks for your comments. As already announced, another update of Nuendo 4 will be released
before Nuendo 5 comes out. This maintenance update will focus on the solo/mute issue as well
as on other problems, which were reported by forum members.
Nuendo 5 will have Nuendo-only features of course and also others, you can find in the currently
released Cubase 5.

is it a translation thing, or does it vaguely say that N5 is gonna have only some features from C5, and not all of the C5 features.

Although Steinberg has in the past repeatedly said that Nuendo will have all of Cubase's functionality, it was not true unless you paid twice and bought the NEK, so I would expect that as well as having to pay for the N5 upgrade, there will be another upgrade charge to update the NEK also. I guess we will find out when N5 comes out one day.
Unbelievable that the flagship program as it stands can't even do what Cubase does...

Don't go there in this thread. If you want to argue about the merits of the NEK then start a separate thread. I know how that debate ends up.

yes, please start another thread about NEK if you want to hack at it for awhile
This is for the guys that are watching for the solo/mute to get fixed:D

Given the backlash from the NEK, and the original hints that Nuendo 4 would not have all of Cubase 4's features, I seriously doubt N5 will lack anything that is in C5, regardless of the NEK aspect.

yes I too questioned Timo's remark but figured I was being overly analytical.....time will tell... but I am really curious to know where they keep getting this "one of the most requested stuff was to take some stuff out of Nuendo and put it seperate like as NEK" or whatever the quote is.. I find that hard to buy..
I didnt' see anyone ask for this in the forum before NEK came about...And certainly the polls done on the forum most users, not only didnt' want it thought it was a horrible idea. So my next guess was ok maybe it was the 'special users' you know the big names the only ones that SB really listen to....but does $100 difference, a $100 saved or whatever it is make a difference to their bottom line? I doubt it.....worse that nuendo is so customisable that you can switch off complete menus or functions from appearing and do the same with plugins too.. I thought then and stil now think something is fishy that will happen soon.

Yeah, I wouldn't read too much into Timo's translated english.
