Hello All:

I'm a longtime engineer (20+ years) with no really famous credits to speak of, just regular work for regular people. I entered the forum here with some minor frustration so I thought I'd start fresh and just say "HI!" and thank the mods for a new forum which I hope will be generally better than Cubase.net. It seems to be heading that way.

I've used Cubase forever. It seems clear to me that Cubase is being geared more towards being an all-around daw/production software and it seems to do that quite well. To support the needs of my current studio business in the areas where Cubase may fall short I use other tools like PT, Vegas, Acid, Reaper... etc. The vast majority of my business is based around electronic music production although I do record and edit acoustic instruments like drums. I have a studio kit, a fender bass, etc, etc, etc. I record saxes and guitars etc, etc, but mostly do sample based music.

If I ever reach a point where the limitations of Cubase outweigh it's advantages (like any other software or any product) I will change (or adjust majority focus) to something where that balance is more conducive to productivity and happiness. I look forward to reading here and posting here. Thanks for providing a community where users can gather and discuss things in a mature manner. :icon_lol:

Great forum.

I like the Audiocave BTW. looks cool:D Nice setup

I cant get away from Cubase myself. One of my good friends is using Cubase 4.5.2 with his studio as well. He mainly does live bands and such. Im tech support LOL

What I do LOVE about the app is that those features I dont use or care about arent stuck in my face like some apps. I dont even know its there

Cubase users are VERY passionate about the app which is why they seem so abrasive sometimes. They just want Steiny to make it ROCK, plain and simple

Hey Lawrence Welcome

I saw a thread of yours on the Reaper forums I thought you crossed over. I'm still hanging with Cubase.

I love Reaper and Cubase. I am making a greater effort to use Reaper more just because I haven't given it a fair shot yet. I'm doing more "new" audio-only sessions in Reaper for that reason. It's impressive.

I keep tabs on it here, Reaper that is. Its lacking pretty bad in the midi are still. For example, it doest send CC # 7 info to your ext synths . so if your wanting to try one out in your mix youll have to PRINT it to audio first

On the Mac, the MTC out is still broken here

Yeah. Midi, tempo, and video features I would like to see improved. To be honest I've heard nothing bad good things about the audio side of it.
