Me thinks it's about demographics first, and project file compatibilities second...

That's what I think too. But find the questions very skewed towards the post audio nuendo users... and that I find scary.

Why?
This is the market that Nuendo is now being aimed at (I don't agree with this differentiation myself, I have to admit) with Cubase being called the "Music Production" tool.
Personally I feel that what should be happening is Cubase should be dropped completely as a separate entity, and Steinberg should do what both Apple & Digi have done - promote one single product in several different versions according to what the user needs. After all, Cubase is Nuendo LE anyway in everything but name & the leap frogging causes bad feelings & confusion.

I agree with all you say Neil. I find it scary cause I am afraid one day even NEK would be dropped...and some of us are forced to go to cubase.
And worse the skewed poll may be used as the justification of such actions. Just like how some unseen (at least by me) data is used to say the creating of NEK was done at users request.

Good points. If they ARE considering doing something like offering a hardware device like that, they should ask specifically whether or not people would be interested in buying such a thing from them. That would get a lot more accurate response on the question (I suspect 97+% "NO," 2% "Maybe" and the rest "Undecided"). The same goes for dropping the NEK. I shudder at the thought.

I think the poll is skewed as well. Since it's open to anyone, some of the questions are designed as qualifiers... answer them "wrong" in Steinberg's view and your answers are most likely disregarded. I felt obligated to include video related answers simply to complete the poll. So, I selected answers that best made the case for video/format compatibilty fixes, in the hopes they will make the effort so it will eventually work if/when I ever need it.

As Nuendo stands today in regards to video capability, I can accomplish more with Nero Vision... :icon_razz:

I for one find comfort in that poll. I've been hoping for a while now for Nuendo to do properly what's written on the side of the box: Postproduction.

I know few people agree with me on that, and that's because the music-to-post-user ratio is not in my favor.
