Yeah, every CEO leaving does that.

Same thing when Gates left.

Honestly, while the past may have been what it was, Apple will do fine with or without Jobs.

Apple stuff, while pricey, really isn't that bad.

Final Cut Studio. For the price, you can do ALOT!!!!!!!!
DVD Studio Pro. Much better and easier to use than DVD Architect.

It it too bad the new laptops suck. The glossy screen and those black keys.
Apple, just like MS makes bad decisions.

I love my laptop. Better than any PC lappy I have had.

Getting the adapter that will power the laptop on an airplane tomorrow.
Haven't seen that for PC.

Steve Jobs "IS" Apple.

I think that's been adequately proved in the past when he left to concentrate on a REAL multimedia OS.

He looks on death's doorstep and I would be very worried if I had anything at all invested in that fruity venture.

Hey Lex,

Bill Gates stepping down from Microsoft didn't see the stocks going south, just the announcement yesterday saw share trading being halted to stop panic selling..

Remember who we are talking about here Mate.., Macnoids are a different animal to typical PC folk, where we really couldn't give a fark about whether Bill is at Microsoft or not, Saint Steve shifting off the mortal coil would be enough to cause a stampede amongst the Macnoid brethren, and I wouldn't even be overly surprised if there is a run of suicides.. :icon_eek3:

It will cause a temporary panic amongst some people. But in time, people will see Apple continue on just fine, and the panic will pass. I can't see the legions of Mac faithful migrating to Windows or Linux.

As a recent convert to mostly Macs/OS X from a mostly Windows environment, I'd just like to say that Steve Jobs departing will not make it at all more likely that I'd ever go back to Windows. I don't care who's at the helm of either company. I only care about the products themselves. Of course then again, I'm obviously not the "Macnoid" type of which you speak. But where exactly do you think those people will stampede to? They would as a group, probably go back to paper and pencil (and acoustic instruments on analog tape) before they'd switch to Windows. And I doubt very many could cope with Linux.

Nuendo is currently one of the few things that I am still running under Windows. But if the Mac side ever gets sorted out with regard to X-scaling and low latency, that PC will be out of here so fast that its rack ears will burn off from atmospheric friction.

Hey Softy,

I am not saying the Macnoids will desert to other platforms, they would sooner cut off an arm.. , I can see where the stampede comment could have been misunderstood in that way, Sorry about that. I was simply commenting on the company stock value and the ongoing direction without Saint Steve.

Re the x-scaling on OSX being solved, hopefully , but I still wouldn't touch OSX with a barge pole, so we'll need to agree to disagree whether that will change anything in regards to an Apple being the better DAW platform choice.. ..:D
