Anyone here using MOTU's MachFive 2 in N4 or Cubase? I just started using it in Nuendo 4 and there seems to be some kind of bug. Once added to a project as either a VST Instrument or Instrument Track, there seems to be some incompatibility with third party VST plugins. When MachFive 2 is removed from the project and Nuendo has been restarted, the problem is fixed. What I'm noticing is that while MachFive 2 is in the project, if you add some specific plugins to the instruments channelstrip, a couple things can happen:
1. Playback stops completely
2. Static or some resulting blast of noise plays
3. Plugin GUI has sluggish response
This also applies to any subsequent channels that may have been routed to, via sends or channel outputs. Besides this issues, which I have been able to work around so far, I've had no other issues with MachFive 2. Anyone else come across this or been able to repro?

Plugins that I've come across that result in the problems above:
*SoundHack SpectralCompander
*PSP MixSaturator 2
*PSP Nitro

As someone who is interested in trying MachFive 2, I will be watching this thread with interest. Anybody successfully using it with N4/C4?

I've had terrible experiences with it.

I really rarely call a product out like this. But I can tell you, there are many compatbility issues.

Issue 1 : Cannot bounce / mixdown audio from Mach Five 2 outputs. A mixdown simply yields silence

Issue 2 : Occassionally, Variaudio does not work when a Mach Five 2 instance is anywhere in the sequence

Issue 3 : Random, LOUD pops and clicks when there are UAD plugins and MachFive the same sequence.

I have raised all of thse with tech support. I was actually told, regarding the mixdown issue... that the " product was not designed to work that way . You have to manually mix down/record the outputs. "

Its too buggy to use...I'm sad to say.

I should have purchased something else. I won't name the something else, so people wont' think I'm pushing another product. However, there are 2 other choices I could have made, one relatively new that comes with a stunning array of high quality sounds.

The sad part is, the sounds that come with Mach Five 2 are GREAT. I mean, some really usable stuff. The effects section is awesome. The looping needs work..but still....when it works, it does an ok job.

There you have it .
