Hey All,
I am trying to nut out an issue with the Halion Strings Vol 1 on a clients system running C4.5 , where we just can't seem to get it to find its patch presets.
I have updated the Halion Strings Vol 1 to the latest version to no avail.
O.K, heres how far we have got..
Hailon Strings installed and all directories correctly pointing to the proper installion folders for the data and presets. Only option available are preset load/save and import FXP/FXB.
Importing FXB loads the top sound into the number one slot, but hitting the preset browser automatically launches SoundFrame which is still clueless to the rest of the available presets in the bank, and no obvious means to point to the correct directory.
Trying to import a FXP into a second available instrument slot does not work at all , so we are basically caught in a loop of having the FXB only making one sound available in the first slot, and no other means to recover the rest of the presets..
Any ideas ?
Have I missed something obvious.. ?
Peace

Did you convert the presets to VST3? Is Mediabay set to scan the folder the presets are in?

So if I am saving a preset out I have to convert to Vst3 first? I am not following you. I am not talking about pre-existing presets, but the ones actually saved out with the new preset handling system. Should it know where it has saved them, since like....it is the thing that saved them. Any direction on this would be appreciated though.

Any presets you save yourself go to the App Data folder and Mediabay needs to be set to scan that folder. Some VST2.x plugs, when you try to save a preset, overwrite the one you modified instead of creating a new one.
The OP stated he can't get a plug to see it's own presets.

Oh, and V4 of Cubendo doesn't deal with .fxb/.fxp which is why I say to convert to VST3 standard.

Shouldn't that be set default since it knew to save it there automatically in the first place? :eusa_think:

Hey Nate,
No I haven't converted the presets to VST3..., re getting Mediabay/Soundbridge to scan, well thats the rub, I thought of that, but I couldn't find the menu to add more folders to the scanning..
Can you save me diving into the manual and give me a quick 101, or is it better to RTFM..
Thanks Mate

Hey Vin, not up on that version of Halion, but checking the folder it and it's preset files are in should do the trick. I've had to go back to SX3 and save .fxb/.fxp presets to their own file so I could load them in a plug and then convert them to VST3 standard. Any plugs that you convert to VST3 will have the presets stored in the App Data folder. Let me know if I can clarify anything for you.:icon_cool:
