I get this when going to the Announcements Section:
Sid Chigger, you do not have permission to access this page. This could be due to one of several reasons:
1. Your user account may not have sufficient privileges to access this page. Are you trying to edit someone else's post, access administrative features or some other privileged system?
2. If you are trying to post, the administrator may have disabled your account, or it may be awaiting activation.

Sorry about that, got the permissions set wrong. I have locked that forum for posting. Permissions are now set for viewing only.

Good call.
Just a thought but maybe those Stickys in the "Announcements" forum could be turned back into regular posts (to avoid any confusion at all) since it's excellent there is the main Announcement then an announcements section itself which I suppose could go under a different name if need be but more importantly I think removing all user posts from there is the best thing to do.
I like the idea of having 3 levels ie, Announcements, General info (stickys), plus regular posts that select users can contribute to. Maybe wait and see after more announcements.
I can only say I'm glad you did what you did Stacy, I might have got myself into very big trouble otherwise as good as my intentions might be.
Thanks again

It's better this way but it's a bit confusing seeing a regular users' name as the pathway into the Announcements forum and would lead one to think regular persons can actually post in there.

Which would devastate them to no end when they:
1. Try to post there
2. Get the error/denial
3. Look 2" upward and see the Announcement about the fact that they can't post there
4. Click and read
