What has the update cycle been for Wavelab? 6.0 has been out since Nov 06 and I started using it in early 07. Has it typically been "slower" on the update cycle when compared to Cubase/Nuendo?

As far as I recall the cycle for Wavelab has been much slower
but that's not entirely surprising since it has significantly less
functionality in it than the production applications do.

But it does what it does very well & very stably.

PG has been hinting recently that WL7 will be out this year sometime..

It's reasonable to assume that Steinberg will have to update
mainstream products like Wavelab if only to shore up their
revenue stream but, unless they make some radical change to
or introduce substantial added value to the product I can't see
us buying it, just to have the newest printing on the box.

Our use of the product is generally limited to deep analysis and
manipulation of waveforms and the batch conversion facilities.
I can't think of any worthwhile improvements that could be made
in those areas.

Perhaps it might be helpful to find out what Wavelab is actually
used for by others. Perhaps a poll of some kind?
