I have a project working with Guitar rig 4.
Its eating up my CPU as there 4 guitar rig instances on 4 audio tracks.
I have one on FX send but no way that I can find to freez the audio so give more CPU.
Was I supposed to bounce this down? I wanted to keep it unaltered so I can change my mind and bouncing it would alter it for good,
Thanks.

You can't Freeze it per se, but you could set up a live record track and bounce it and then turn off the effects.

I've run into this previously... It would be so handy if FX tracks could be freezed. Maybe a time for a FR (that will propably be answer when N8 sees daylight...).

I think you can render FX/Group tracks offline in Cubase with a stem export can't you? I'm not sure why anyone would do a real time recording pass if they can render.

Yeah I guess you could do that too except would that include the master fx chain?

Nope. It prints before the master channel... batch. With batch off it goes through the master.

It's a handy feature and an improvement but - and I say this with due respect, not randomly bitching - it's kinda half done. I often wonder what goes on in the minds of people as they sit down in the planning stages of these kinds of things... there are some obvious omissions there, and in fairness they aren't the only ones overlooking some things. A "proper" batch export should have (imo) options for...
- Post-FX, pre fader
- Post-FX and fader
- Cubase's panner is post fader I think so maybe post-fader / pre-pan?
- Options to disable/bypass inserts globally or by track class.
- Options to (given some of the above) duplicate channel settings (fader, pans, sends) on the pre-fader stem exports if "Import To Track" is optioned.
