Very cool. Thread on it on GS. While this is for DJs, no doubt other versions, condensed sizes, etc are on the horizon for general computing, DAW integration, etc.

I think it'll be hard to get over the lack of tactile feedback though. With this you're essentially forced to look at your surface in order to know what your hands are doing, whether they're touching a fader or a pot for example. With a physical surface you'll feel it instead.....

But sure, for some aspects of DAWs touch sensitive screens are great.

Yes I agree. I love the personal tweaks that one can make to a touchscreen (like the Lemur, for example) but I hate the fact that I have to look what I'm doing. However, when the next generation comes out with contour mapping then I'll be all over it, baby. :icon_yes:

The software they're running on that is Emulator (formerly Monotouch Live) from Pablo Martin (aka DJ Grobe). He's very keen on the touch screen stuff, so expect him to keep an eye on the tactile response technologies being developed for touch screens...
