Help!

I'm writing a pop score right now, and after nicely typing in all of the lyrics underneath their respective melody note, i print, and find that the lyric spacing has all be slightly truncated so that the last word of every line is appearing about 1/4 note too early!

I printed to PDF, on a real printer, and Export -> Scores... to jpg, and bmp and the aligned in wrong on all of them. And the alignment is different in every case.

Then I tried adjusting my zoom in the Score window only to find that the text repositioned with every Zoom adjustment!

What is going on?! I need to deliver this score tonight....
(it's a standard melody + piano + lyrics)

Edit: D'oh, I entered the lyrics by "text" rather than using the "lyrics" tool. The misalignment of "text" is still problematic though but at least I can get around it

I can't help you, but if you need to do this more in the future, then consider Sibelius. I know that's not what you want to hear, but the score printing and general control of anything that are not notes is too much work.

font problem maybe? most likely a bug though.

I never use the score stuff but maybe somebody here can help you out.

I´m with Thonex - Sibelius is excellent.

Cubendo can be very frustrating for scorewriting, especially if you want to use lyrics.

Yes, to solve the problem here, definitely use lyric instead of text entry. Lyrics work fine for the most part. Not as desktop publishing/graphics layout oriented as Sibelius, but it works okay usually, at least enough to get through this one.

PM vic france at cubase.net. He knows his shit when it comes to score issues. IIRC, this has come up before but I can't remember the fix.

Thanks guys. Ended up finishing it off in time by using the "Lyrics" input method instead. Had to manually input all of the lyrics again, but I got over it.

Anyway I don't do too much score stuff... generally just odd-jobs for regular clients who need a lead sheet to give to a backing band/songwriting competition etc.

Overall I do find that C4 is pretty good as a Score editor. It is missing some of the ease-of use functionality that Sibelius has (i've used it in the past), but I sort of like its rugged feel. PLUS, the manual is VERY thorough and quick to navigate. It's basically a fully functioning program unto itself. Just look at the amount of pages dedicated to it in the manual.
