I'm just starting it. Linking of clients and project and cross referencing is really good.
Great way to keep all email in connection with certain people as well.

Yes, that sort of thing is great. I've been a Goldmine user on PC for years. Tons of linking of contacts/projects/todo/documents/labels/mail merge/email merge, etc.......
But I have a friend on Mac I'll be pointing this out, to.
Thanks,

I've been using this thing that's been around for a dozen years or so... maybe you've heard of it?
It's called Office, by a little company called Microsoft. :icon_cool:

Most of my voices are in my head, so meetings and such are pretty easy to carry out... except when they have had a party the night before... damn kids...

Every have your entire calender and contacts disappear? I have. For zero reason.
No upgrade, unless it was one of those "background" updates MS did without telling you.
Sorry, no go on Office.

I need to find something like that for the PC. MS Mail just doesn't cut it - okay for some things, but this app looks very nicely integrated to be able to switch between projects, contacts, email, scheduling, etc. Very cool that it has an iPhone/Touch app to complement and sync. Nice find Lex.

Exactly. It is perfect for tracking, connecting and linking different clients and schedules together.
There is another app from the same company called Billings that can be used separately or integrated into Daylite.
Well, maybe we get a few bookings, you pickup a macbook and we can share the DB. I'd been looking for something like this for a long time.
Have another set of rates as well. Give me a shout soon.

I use Goldmine, which is a business contact management tool. They stopped selling the consumer version and the corp version is too expensive.... around $500
But ACT! is still fairly cheap. I switched from it to Goldmine because years ago the damn thing took over all the .dbf files on my computer and I have Alpha5 that I build databases on for biz things and it relies on .dbf files.
ACT! may be worth a try now. It was deep enough and it probably more capable now.
Contact Management is the type of programs to look for in general.

OpenOffice: helps me keep Microsoft and some of their policies a little further away from my world.
EccoPro: no longer maintained but still available (and now a freebie). For what it is/was, it is quite a heady thing going beyond the simple basics of a PIM. You can set up entire project workflows in this software. I've used it for years to manage analysis, bug tracking, fixes, releases, and general updates for my software clients, and it is easy (once you're past the learning curve) to set up for other workflows.
It does have a limitation in how much data you can store, but it is large. It supports templates, and I use templates for new projects. It appears there is new software on the horizon that does much of what Ecco does, but is not so limited database wise. It is called InfoQube, but my initial tests with it make my head spin due to the interface. EccoPro is still it for me.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ecco_Pro The simplistic views of the product here do not do justice.
