Title says it all, they released a so called 'release candidate' of the V4 drivers and software for the current windows versions - including 64 bit drivers, which might be the most important reason for people to look into it. I use it with Win7/64 and Nuendo 4/32 successful for some weeks now. All I use are the main reverb plugins (VSS, Nonlin, DVR and Tapfactory), so I can't comment on other plugs, but I haven't encountered anything disturbing yet. First generation cards are no longer officially supported, but work - whatever that means.
I have one generation 1 and one generation 2 pci version, both are running as good as before under XP/32. That means that I need to restart occasionally after starting the system in case the old card isn't recognized at first boot, usually it's there and running fine after a reboot.

I read somewhere that disabling quickboot in the bios might cure that.

I had to take it for going 64 bits. If there's no improvement you're after I'd stay where I was - as we know updating involves stability risks and sometimes the plugins don't even sound the same any more (not TC specific, but I had this with several other companies already). I was still at 2.xx before that because v3 had given me some troubles.
