I'm sure this has been discussed, but I was unable to come across a thread describing this issue. Recently during playback, audio output and metering will cease while the project continues to play on. The video track is still going, but there is no audio at all. When I stop playback and start again, there is no metering on any channel and no audio output. Restarting fixes this issue, but good lord is it a pain. I have a feeling it's related to our ASIO issues, but has anyone else come across this? It's almost as if Nuendo loses my interface, even though it shows up in device setup and nothing has changed in my VST connections. Of course, the crackling and pops we all love are happening just before this. Any thoughts? Thanks

How's the CPU meter behaving when this problem occurs? Maybe it's related to the spike-issue, to me it sounds a lot like it's a graphic card issue or at least the graphic card's drivers. When I upgraded my graphic card from a entry-level 256meg to a decent-level 512meg board a lot of the unresponsiveness that sometimes occurred disappeared. So did a lot of the CPU spikes I used to have.

But then again, that's a whole entire science in it's own right, for instance in XP it's still terribly bad, in VISTA the spikes are completely gone. Seems to be a gamble sometimes.

CPU meter is fine. It's the ASIO Cache Overload red light that clips. My graphics card has 512 MB and oddly enough, I'm on Vista. Sounds like what is working for, isn't for me. Funny how that works. :)
