Agreed. If there's an incorporation of the tech into wheelchairs etc then great. If it'll turn out to be yet another excuse for overweight people to not exercise then it sucks.

Doing some reading, it is only a prototype and will probably not be available to the public. The battery only lasts an hour and its top speed is 3.7mph.

If they could get the same technology built into my Air Jordans then I would buy it, and wear a long cape soe it always looked like I was gliding! :p

It truly is amazing technology... a nice exercise in robotics... just poor faddish/segue-inspired implementation.
I'd want my disabled relative in something a bit more substantial...(which already exists).
This wouldn't be safe or practical for anyone with more than a weak knee or bad ankle to use for mobility assistance.

i am in a wheelchair... and if i see one lazy fuq with no disability on one of these, i will beat the shit out of them. The segue idiots piss me off, but this is worse. I would give almost anything to have my spine whole again, and would walk around the entire planet once to celebrate... without one of these "advances"

Alhough, even with the uncomfortable necessities of it's design the IT actually went fast! Haha
