Hi!
I want to run Cubase on my desktop and my laptop. Running it on my laptop is a wicked PITA, mainly due to health issues (paraplegic, get stuck in bed some days). Having a dongle plugged in directly, or even with an extension, can be dangerous for me. I would like to either figure a way to not need to move the C5 dongle back n forth, or find anther app.

C5 has several *uniquely integrated* features I love, and I know of no other app that has them, or an easy way to combine multiple apps. When I get stuck in bed, I want a way to access songs over my network.. no need to download songs, just fire up an app and work, save, etc. When on my laptop, I usually just work with VI's, work on lyrics, transcribing ideas I recorded, work on harmonies/counterpoint.. utilizing the VariAudio and score/TAB features. I love having everything for a song saved in one app/file.

Is it possible to hardwire/network a USB hub so I can selectively allow either computer to access the hub? One computer at a time.. I do not want or need both to try and shared the hub.. I guess something like a KVR for USB? About 40ft between to two points.

I'm not sure that exactly what you need is available, but things
like this exist... (you probably don't want to physically switch the device):
http://www.everythingusb.com/hardware/USB_Switchboxes/

Not sure of being able to meet your distance requirements with cables...

This is wireless (probably not compatible with a dongle):

Let us know if it'll send your licenses to every computer within range.
