For those using IE, Safari, or Firefox, I highly recommend Chrome.

It is easily 5 times faster than Firefox.

Haven't explored plugins for it yet though. Firefox has some great plugins.

I've often wondered what could possibly make a browser "fast"... since speed is essentially based on your Internet service provider connection, the speed delivery capacity of the server on the other end that provides the site you're trying to access, and the data size of contents on the site you're attempting to access.

The obvious answer to perceived "speed improvement" without those factors relies on compiling a cache of every site you've ever visited on your hard drive, so only "new" data is being brought in each time to access a site... the down side of this is that it simply fills a folder on your hard drive with tons of archived history data. Microsoft already provides this option in the operating system.

The other answer to the perceived "speed improvement" would be if Google essentially monitors and stores the mirrored data of where you go for you... instead of on your drive... to analyze you for marketing purposes... security purposes... any purpose which they deem profitable to a third party... which would support their "reason to be" in the first place... right?

Google Chrome... the bigger big brother.

I bounce between all of the browsers occasionally as I edit and admin all of my websites, and Chrome does feel a little snappier, but not 5 X faster.

Its definitely worth a peak at, but I personally always find myself back on FF

Well I can tell you clear out, cache or not.

When I come here, it is instant with Chrome. Not so much with FF. about 3 sec.

I've also noticed studdering on youtube, or streaming video more on FF, and it isn't there with Chrome.

Chrome is faster. While I still use both, Chrome is about 5 times faster.
