Cubase affinity in Task Manager

I've been strugging recently with VE Pro in Cubase 5.1.1 with clicks and pops but found a workaround by setting Cubase affinity in the task manager to "normal" instead of 'high". Is this an acceptable solution?

Well it's unexpected. Here setting cubase to normal will cause crackles.
Are you running VE pro inside cubase or as a sever. I use Jbridge and indeed when jbridge is set to high I get crackles (default for Jbridge) when I set Jbridge to normal all crackles disappear. Can you set VE to normal instead of cubase (depending on how you run it).
OTOH if it works it works.
