Maybe there could be at least 2 sub-forums for the cubase and nuendo users, I've got the feeling a general discussion forum alone might get a bit crowded.
Nice format though Good work.
File attachments are nice to have and it's great that posters views aren't counted, many thanks

Hi messianic,
Welcome to cubendo.com! Great to see you here.
What do you mean by poster's views?

Thanks for welcoming me and it's great to see an alternative forum for users of this great program.
I just notice with some phpBB forums often they count views of the poster when editing and things which is maybe not such a good idea.
Anyway, good to see this now hope it all goes well.
best regards

And as far as subforums for Cubase and Nuendo.... That was discussed but I think the consensus was that we don't recognize the arbitrary "marketing" distinctions between these two products. Nuendo is Post? lol Music people mostly use Nuendo. Post is in the minority. They are basically the same tiered products, just like the distinction between Logic Studio and Logic Pro, etc.
But we can definitely leave it up in the air and add subforums if it becomes obvious there's a need. Or if a lot of members are really feeling the need. This place will be a democracy. :)

Cool sounds great!
I was thinking and this is only a thought that if there were subfourms for the products, that the general discussion area might serve for non-specific posting so as to promote discussion other than feature requests as it is already taken care of but wait and see is the best approach.
Thanks again and I hope this becomes the place to go.
BTW that is so cool the instant messenger thing brilliant work.

The profile picture and avatar are two separate things. i went ahead and added your profile pic as your avatar. Or you can put something different in there if you like.

Hello,
Perfect Nuendo & Cubase subforums in Cubendo support.
I tried to send myself a test message (IM) but is it working? I can see my status but how can I send myself (or anyone else) an instant message? The only option that seems to work are Visitor Messages, which is another great idea.
A really good thing having IM and friends list. I feel it will cut down on problems that plague most forums.
Best regards

Do you mean Private Messaging?

Added Nuendo and Cubase specific forums. You talked us into it. You are probably right, that it might get to busy in the General Discussion area.

I'm glad to be of service.
It would seem the best thing to do in addition to a general product forum, having product specific sub-forums plus feature requests and general website feedback, as well as a thunderdome, as it really does provide the greatest possible array of choices.
Having instruments and community forums should also serve as excellent adjuncts to the more than sufficient selection of options currently available.
I can only hope the designers of other websites will take note of this instead of trying to pidgeon hole user discussion, which I find so much to be the norm on so many other forums. Oh and one final thought...
...it's great there is a bug posting forum, I am sure many talented people will find it very useful but that said one thing which I'd really like to see and what I feel is very much lacking in forums related to software development and that is a place for general discussion about issues unrelated to hardware but which cause endless grief to some and ongoing pain to others.
It's only a thought and I won't push it but my observation is that providing bug-reports & step-by-stop repros often do not address the underlying specific causes of certain problems and since feature requests do not really help, maybe it might be an idea but I suppose this can all be done with the product specific pages but if the intention is to make commercial organisations take notice then maybe this goal might best be served in a non-specific but less general kind of way without being tainted by opinion or particular methods and modes of operation.
May this place enjoy many happy returns.
P.S. Thanks for adding an Avartar for me, I didn't know there was a difference :)

Another thing that might be worth thinking about and I know how this will come across, how about a Copy Protection sub forum in the hardware section or maybe I'm asking too much which I would certainly understand because naturally this could be discussed in hardware.
It's just such an issue for some people and I empathise with those who experience such things and mind you I often have problems with it myself but even if all there was was a link to the installer then it might help alot of people in the longer term who are new to the application.
Also, is there a problem with changing the title of posts?
Thanks again

Clicking on a members IM link is working here fine. Anybody else having problems with it?
And btw, we decided to take the Nuendo/Cubase specific forums down for now. If things get out of hand we will address it then.
thanks

Hey Stacy,
Clicking on the link brings up the detail at my end, but won't automatically send a request simply because I use an alternate IM application to the standard fare. I use a multi protocol IM application called Miranda , so I simply make the request from within Miranda using the details provided..
I suppose you need to ask what IM application the guys are using ?

Yeah I understand, if no one is using it then what is the point I suppose.
Anyway, in the last post what I think I was trying to say was maybe there needs to be a forum for installation only issues with the subheading of copy protection etc.
I say this even though I understand the intention is not to try and emulate any other forum but to provide an alternative so I guess what I'm saying is to the website must be comprehensive enough, which at this point I think it is and as said previously it's best to wait and see.
About the Instant Messenger thing, are we supposed to click on the online/offline button or a link, when I click on those links the only one that works is the Visitor Message.
Thanks

Hi guys,
Thanks for your patience. I think there is a bug with this version vbulletin when clicking on a persons name. A dropdown should popup but it actually pops up somewhere on the page. Also happens on the QuickLinks and Seatch at the top. How many of you are experiencing this? At first we thought it was a Mod only issue.
Anyway, I will narrow this down and email vbulletin support.

Hi Stacy,
I've got another suggestion:
Maybe a live chat in the web browser would be interesting,

Thanks again

Yeah, I'm getting this. The pop-up appears way down below the rest of the page.

Hi,
Very gracious of you to look at that.
There is also the issue of not being able to change a title of a post which was pointed out here:
http://cubendo.com/showthread.php?t=31
It's happened to me as well for I cannot change the title of this post either.
Thank you

I think member edited thread titles has to be enabled on our end. Let me look into it.

I think that the Post/Surround section should be called Video, Post and Surround, because even though it says Video in the small print, it is not immediately obvious when browsing this site. Changing the heading will make sure that things go in the correct section and film composers will know where to look . When the VEK comes out then that might need its own forum. In fact if the program does become more modular, it will make the sub-headings much easier.
Also, a Score Editor forum would be good for those people who can stand the look of the thing.

Yes because then it organises itself alphabetically, good idea I think.

Doesn't "Post" automatically imply video? Since you are doing sound to picture? But there is no problem adding video to the title.
thanks

It should, but then again anyone who believes the BS that SB is giving about "Cubase for music" may not find it. Anyway, glad you like the idea.

I reckon it should be called "The unofficial Cubase and Nuendo user forum" to bring it together as the one place to go.

Stacy, you can go build a myspace site that acts as a direct link here as well... easy free promo.

Hi,
The Subtitle would lead one to think that there are separate cubase and nuendo forums when there are not, which was never the intent anyway as far as I can see.

Hi,

I would suggest:
CUBENDO - Unofficial Forum for Cubase & Nuendo Users
or
CUBENDO - Unofficial Forum for the Cubase & Nuendo Userbase
That takes care of the implications.
