Bricasti M7 version 2

So I spent about 6 hours yesterday working with v2 here in Durham at Soundpure Studios. Casey (the creator), myself and my female vocalist/compatriot Lee worked on a few of our mixes to come up with some "lushesque" presets to be included with v2 hopefully. We came up with several vocal presets that sounded just gorgeous, and couple others for instruments.

This was my first experience with a M7 and I have to say I was totally impressed. Hearing demos online doesn't do this thing justice. You guys are in or a treat with version 2, and that's coming from someone who loves Lexicon reverb. The tweakability was awesome. Lee and I would describe the sound were going for (often abstractly I might add) and Casey would start tweaking. The M7 nor Casey did not disappoint, and we were able to narrow in on the sound we wanted effortlessly. Cool thing on the new modulation and how it's laid out in the parameters... There are numbers that are sequential and correspond with historic reverb hardware. So one number might represent a 224 style and the next a 480ish, kind of like a stroll through a reverb Hall of Fame, all of which can be cycled through without changing the preset. Very nice for getting different vibes. And the new delay lines were awesome.

Anyway, I have to say a M7 is on my shortlist for purchase. I have the PCM Bundle but a M7 would round out the collection nicely.

Yeah, I hated that I experienced that cuz now I am going to have to buy one. Luckily Casey said he would hook me up for a good price directly. hmm what can I sell...

Interesting thing...Casey told me he had a computer number crunching for 2 years full time working on the "tables" for the Bricasti. I don't know exactly what that is all about but it sounds mindblowing. Also, said there are 10 different reverbs that make up the M7 "reverb" sound, including two low-level freq reverbs.

There are some things it sounds great on, but for others it causes huge problems in the mix. It has been a learning curve finding out just what it does best for the stuff I write. However, I'm really happy that I bought it.

Really? That thing pretty much made anything sound good and you could add a shitload of verb and it would still blend in the mix.

From what I remember the early reflections on some presets (even when tweaked) sounded not so great on some woodwinds, whilst they sounded really good on strings.

Ah, gotcha. You will probably like version 2 then. One preset we worked on was for a Duduk and it sounded beautiful.

Grrr!! Don't do that. I was kinda hppy with the PCM bundle and Altiverb combination and for oddities Breverb. PCM for plates mainly and Alti for hall (figures). Brverb for those you have to search for. However i hate presets!!! They never work so don't mind...
