Am I getting senile or wasn't there a thread on Nuendo 5 at NAMM, and the special guest invites by Steiney to show N5?...... Did it disappear?....
Talk about Steinberg having Gearslutz' mods balls in their hands!....

just a taste for the time when the cached links die...
This event is stricltly on invitation for an exclusive and selected party of registered Nuendo users. The event will take place under NDA.
Fredo
The invitations for this event were private and strictly personal invitations for the clients of one of the Belgian distributors, and were not meant to be published in public. The event is organised in order to generate pre-sales so users can get his/her version of N5 upon release. It is very possible that similar events will be organised in different parts of the world by the local product specialists/distributors, but that is entirely up to the local distributors. Since there is no official Nuendo 5 announcement from Steinberg yet, such events need to be organised under NDA.
Until there is an official announcement from Steinberg, we can not discuss any of the new features in public, -apart from what is already known-. In other words, this thread is a few months early and can generate nothing but speculation.
Best regards
Fredo
Let me get this straight... a select chosen few are meeting to demo Nuendo 5 in Belgium (and maybe elsewhere) to generate advanced presale hype... in private... and attendees are bound under an Non Disclosure Agreement...
Yep... makes perfect sense to me. http://www.gearslutz.com/board/images/smilies/facepalm.gif
Fredo, disclosure of this "event" is absurd.
The people on the beta team and their select V.I.P.'s will be getting free Not For Resale versions anyway...
Presale my ass. Nobody can talk about anything to street level buyers if they're under an NDA.
Release a downloadable free demo with save/time limitations to the public if you want to generate real presale hype.
As it stands now, the only point in Fredo's post was to make himself feel special.
sometimes you just have to see it to believe it... the contradiction and nonsense is mind-boggling.
I can just hear a guy at Steinberg saying "hey, I have an idea... let's secretly promote our new product by giving private demos to small selective groups of people who will be under a gag order not to talk about it... nobody else will know, and if the demo goes well we'll probably be able to convince most of the special attendees to buy it the second it's released... well, except that most of those people will be getting it for free...", and everyone else sitting around the table gets wide-eyed as they all nod and say "yaah" in unison.
Why delete the thread? Because it's embarrassing.
The mods at Gearslutz must have been invited to the party...

Why does it seem like more and more companies are wasting time with meetings on "how to look completely and totally stupid and/or absurd"?
Avidesign's "more intimate" NAMM booth, this bit of Cubendo pricelessnes....
