Why can't Steinberg release something for their products like Cakewalk can in this price range. Looks pretty awesome. http://pro-audio.musiciansfriend.com/product/Cakewalk-SONAR-VStudio-700-Console?sku=620397&src=3WFRWXX&ZYXSEM=0&CAWELAID=344121864

Oh man up already and buy an ID-Console Stacy ;)

I want muchly - I played on one for a day a while back, and as far as music mixing goes that thing beats any controller i have used. I didn't get too deep into the editing side but it looked extensive - the integration with the control room was awesome, and the CR is one of my favourite cubendo features.....DAW imitating studio and all that....

I know the price is a big chunk, but when you feel the ID under your hands you get why it is the price it is....

But yes - a very functional AU$3-5k controller would be great :)

I am hoping at NAMM they announce somethng that would solve this problem. Otherwise I think I might just get a MC Control

I would get an MC Control and MC Mix - but I have a niggling feeling they are kinda like a mackie functionality in a nice box - I doubt they would feel like an ID or MC..... haven't played with one yet, so I might be talking out my arse, but I have had controllers over the years and I have come to the conclusion tat if you dont get 'THE' controller then it gets in the way more than a mouse and keyboard + alphatrack - and doesnt do much more......

hmmmm....I am building a new studio this year when we buy a house....I wonder how I can find 30k for a 24 fader ID :)

I spoke to a rep at AES and I don't think we'll see a controller for Nuendo any time soon... Meaning even in the next year or two.... Talk about a missed opportunity... again...

Unbelieveable. You think with such companies as Steinberg and the giant Yamaha they would be able to come up with something and not be bested by Cakewalk. lol What do they give us? That silly toy A1 or whatever its callled.

So I just got an order in for a MC Control. Looks pretty damn cool and will do a lot of what I want in a controller.

Hi Stacy,

As WK-Audio is rolling out a new version of the ID Control called ID Console, you might be lucky and find a cheap ID Control at a dealer somewhere. Demo used maybe.
They are built like tanks, so it doesn't matter if its used.

"Used" would still be outside my price range. 10 to 12k I am sure.

I know some have been sold as cheap as down to £3.000-4.000. Dealers selling a unit that's fully payed (lease plan is over), tax write off and all. etc.

And as I've said earlier. The ID is really worth its money.

Still way more than I want to spend.

Well, I got the Mc Control today and have been playing around with it tonight. Freaking amazing and I haven't even scratched the surface. THe way you can quickly navigate through plugin inserts is awesome. I can see getting really fast on this thing when I learn the whole protocol.

How exactly are you running it, are you using the MAC to network it to your PC DAW ?

Right,

Cool if you have a spare MAC around, but useless if you need to go out a buy one to be a proxy !

While they are still maintaining this alliance with Apple and refusing to release a PC version, I'll continue to give it the widest birth possible, just out of principle.
