Step 1: Right click.
Step 2: Click create folder.
Step 3: Name your sparkly, new folder this, "GodMode.{ED7BA470-8E54-465E-825C-99712043E01C}" and press enter.
Step 4: Blink as the folder changes form to look like the control panel.
Step 5: Open the folder and bask in all your godly, control panel-y power.

Well, this is kinda interesting. I tried this in XP, and was able to successfully create and name the folder. Of course, nothing happened, but upon trying to open the folder - and it is a folder with the proper icon - I got a "Windows can not open this file" error. Hmmmmm...
Now to go to my Vista part. and try it there.

Yep - works in Vista. How long has Vista been out, and we are just hearing about this now???

Cool. I'm working on getting the DAW and all the slaves on W7 right now.....this was a hell of a lot easier than trying to get the damn networking rolling right!!

Remember that this can crash 64bit Vista apparently. If it does so, you have to boot in safe mode and delete the folder.

Hey Andrew,
Had a quick poke around this arvo..
Definitely handy to get to a lot of the regular tweaks that I do in Win7 , but its not as good as the old Tweak UI which had a whole host of options not available thru the usual control applets.
Interestingly you cannot pin the folder/control panel to the taskbar as a regular shortcut, very strange.
Still a cool and very handy tweak , thanks for the heads up.

Yeah - it's more a collection of stuff you can get to from elsewhere. It would be nicer if they gave us the Tweak UI power toy again.

Hey Andrew,
For a Tweak UI alternative for Win 7, I just found this WinBubble 1.76 (http://unlockforus.blogspot.com/2007/10/windows-vista-unlocks-news-tips-and.html)
Worth a look see..

What's with the blacked out text after "Network"? What'd Martha Stewart post that?

I saw the original post and thought "Sure!". I didn't check any official websites or read further on. I just did it.
Lesson relearned.
After a reboot to WinXP and navigating to the desktop I put this into, I removed the folder. Windows Vista Ultimate 64 bit then functioned as before.

From the article of the 16 additional modes:
"Some of you using 64-bit Vista say activating GodMode caused your machine to crash. Sinofsky says the folks at MS have yet to replicate this problem...."
