Hi guys!
I know thos will sound lame to you, but, please take it seriously, iīm real beginner.

Is there any way to configure Creative Soundblaster X-fi Surround 5.1 external sound card ( http://www.soundblaster.com/products/product.asp?category=209&subcategory=669&product=17751&nav=3 ), to get working with Nuendo 4.3?

For explanation, I need to make an entrance examination project (a short story told only by sounds), and I considered it easier to make it in 5.1, but as I see now, itīs not so...

Shortly the problem is that Nuendo (concretely the ASIO DirectX Full Duplex Driver) does not see output of that audio card as 5.1 (surround) but as common stereo. I have already installed all drivers and tried to confugure it as I knew, but no results.

I am using (please do not laugh, itīs the best i could get):
HP pavilion notebook with Windows Vista home basic, mentioned Creative external 5.1 soundcard and Razor Barracuda 5.1 headphones.

Thanks for any heplful ideas, i am desperate. :eusa_wall:

The outputs are probably there you just have to go set them up in VST Connections.

If you want to use a professional program like Nuendo (and can afford it) you really need to get a professional soundcard. That cr*p you're trying to use is really not good enough.

You should be using the Creative ASIO driver, not the generic.

I second that. With Nuendo costing about 1800 bucks, no one in their right "legal" mind would be using a Creative Soundblaster card.

Back in the day of Nuendo 2.0, before N.com required your dongle number to post, we'd get a bunch of Soundblaster card questions.

Which all came from illegal software users.

Nothing wrong with Blasters if you know how to set them up. Some have a 48k limit, but other than that there are no issues. They are also ASIO compliant.

The problem people have with them is the Record What You Hear feature, but setting up the correct input is all it takes to solve that issue.

insERT_scilence,

There's some doubt that you are using a legitimate version of Nuendo, and we as moderators would appreciate it if you could somehow verify that you are. Please PM one of us and we'll talk more.....

Until then, we will let this thread remain closed.
