The type of person who buys overpriced proprietary hardware to use overpriced proprietary hardware has money to burn anyway, right?

What's the problem?

That guy hasn't done his homework, if you have a system capable of running the required O.S's , you can still use the legacy hardware with coming 8.03. update

A company that listens to their users and change policy direction when the users speak up? Damn!!!!!!

Wish I could comment...
Well, I can say that it sucks that the Digi MIDI I/O is not listed, but was silently "archived" awhile ago, and when asked if ANY 64-bit OS drivers would be written, dead silence was the only sound. It is like the MIDEX8 :(

Beyond that... Avidesign is... (sigh)..

Their decision to rethink this was inescapable.

A company whose made a concerted effort over the past 5 years to spawn new generations of entry level users by assimilating companies like M-Audio, Evolution, etc... doesn't kick their future userbase when they're down in this economy.

It only begs the question what they were thinking when they initiated the original announcement in the first place... Of course, the inevitable spin is that they win anyway by showing they listen to their userbase.

Those higher in the food chain will spend the money anyway...
