Problem
Incorrect mapping of MIDI output routing after save/re-open. This seems to happen when the MIDI track is positioned below an audio track with a plugin that accepts MIDI information. The output routing of the MIDI track seems to "stick" to the above track rather than another audio track below.
Affects
Cubase 4.x (up to 4.5.2 at least)
Reproduction
- Create a new project
- Add two audio tracks
- Insert the WahWah effect on both audio tracks (insert 1)
- Insert a MIDI track between the two audio tracks
- Route the output of the MIDI track to Audio 02: Ins 1 – WahWah
- Save the project
- Perform a revert from the File menu (or simply save and re-open)
- The output of the MIDI track is now routed to Audio 01: Ins 1 – WahWah
Workaround
- Move the MIDI track so that it is immediately below the audio track which contains the plugin you want to route to
- Save the project
- Should be routed correctly next time you open the project
