Just a heads up, but try at your own risk! :D
To my surprise, I was able to get PTLE 8 and 003 board working in XP64.
No official support, but man this is cool - all control functions on the surface works. All my old 5.1 projects( 80- 100 tracks) from PTHD opens up in the same state as they were saved( except TDM plugins of course), but I can run the Sonnox plugs from the powercore instead and most Waves plugins are replaceable with something similar or better. TL space native is a nice 5.1 convo, sounds better than the ren. verb anyway.

With what drivers for the 003 ?
There has never been any x64 drivers for the hardware from my understanding ?

The drivers included in the version 8 installation.
I noticed some time ago when I failed to install the m-powered version on the same system that digi hardware drivers were installed.
Don't know about ASIO drivers though, will test tomorrow..
Cheers,
Ola

There are x64 drivers in the standard PT8 installation ?
And Digi haven't bothered to tell anyone about them ?
O.K, thats one for the books.
Good catch, let us know how it pans out ..

Yeah, funny thing..:eusa_think:
I guess they are secretly "sniking" it in, but need to be absolutely sure it really works. Quite the opposite of Steinberg, not sure which one to trust the most, though..

There are no 64-bit drivers for Digi hardware in any official, public release.
The USB Mbox family can be made to work.
Avidesign have said on their site and forum (DUC) that they are planning release of W7x64 capable PT versions; 32-bit app/plugs, 64-bit drivers. When? Lol...
If you have a non-USB Mbox hardware + PT LE or HD ver working properly on a 64-bit, you are in an incredibly small group of people who have stumbled into this, but have no recipe for others to reliably recreate this with. I went with new hardware and software due to this (yet again). If you provide a solid, reliable recipe for this, you would be the first.

Yes, there're 64-bit drivers (completely unofficial and not advertized) in PTLE8 for all the Digi family. Firewire and USB. Also PTMP8 can be used with M-Audio's cards/interfaces with 64-bit support.
There's a thread in DUC about installing PT on 64-bit.
Cheers!

Now this is getting interesting,
Its been a while since I had an XPx64 install running, but now I am tempted to install it on a spare HD on one of the dev systems and see if my 002 plays nice.
I knew that HD would install on Vista64 , unofficially , but not the LE family.
BTW: This isn't by accident or by some fluke guys, there has to be specific x64 drivers, its not like you can trick the x86 32 bit driver to work in x64.
Very strange , and I could say more about PTLE on Win7 x64, but I would then have to kill you all.. :eusa_whistle:

I have tried several times to install M-powered on XP 64, but the lack of XP64 drivers for the m-audio usb series stopped me. They released vista64 and W7 64 drivers, but those did not work with XP 64.
Nevertheless, one important thing to remember, on the DIGI 003, use a "safe" install on XP or Leopard to update the firmware on the unit. I managed to install the software at first and the I/O's of the 003 ( and actually start PT), but the unit was not communicating properly until the firmware update. So, better do this first.
The performance seems to be good so far, not heavy measurement yet, but still.. All processors seems to be loaded on the Q6600.
A project with ap. 80 tracks of 24bit audio and intensive use of surround panning. And multiple instances of surround convolution reverbs.
BTW I got this 003 unit from AVID to investigate the options of a Sibelius and Pro Tools Combo for scoring/post.
Cheers,
Ola
