RME Fireface UC (http://rme-audio.de/en_products_fireface_uc.php)
When RME comes out with a usb interface and says it's better than their firewire line, you have to at least take note.
I'm in the market for a new device, has anyone tried one of these?
Sceptical of usb having sustained transfer rates, but I'm open to first hand feedback from anyone.

Hello Rob,
There is one thing better on the Fireface UC : It can use a lower latency than the Fireface firewire.
You can look at this graph. I've used the latency indicated in Cubase, and some values are interpolated.

Hey Stéphane,
Good to see you here.. :-)
Interesting results with the UC, a little behind the FF800 across the comparable latencies, but managing to scale to a lower latency.
Out of interest, what are the system specs and O.S being used.
BTW: Cool graph layout, I may need to borrow a few ideas for my reports ..

Hi Vin !
It was with a Core i7 920, 4Gb DDR3 @ 1066, Windows XP 32bits SP3, Cubase 5.1.
Dawbench DSP (ReaXcomp, 5mn test).
I think that all my future tests will be with Windows 7 and the same computer.
In a week, I will have the results for a 2408 and a Emu Pci.
