This is so freaking awesome I can't contain myself. :bouncy: I had a feeling the "big announcement" would be this.

Excellent. I suppose it makes sense that computing power has grown to a point where this is do-able now. So how much do you think? Anybody fancy a guess?

$699 is my guess.

2 for $1!!! :icon_yes:

Man, I would love to A/B this against a 480L.

Me thinks kdm knows a bit too much....:eusa_whistle:

Price (MSRP) $1899

Ugh.

Damn. I thought it would be 1200 at most. But if this is the real deal it will be worth it. Unlimited instances remember and they would be cannibalizing their hardware sales.

Guess I shouldn't be surprised at the price.

But if it's like the PCM90 PC card/Studio 12T system (which started out at $3k I think), and sounds like a less expensive hardware unit, it won't get off the ground (the PC90 was nearly identical to, but less flexible than the MPX1 which was $1k).

$1899 sets a very high expectation. People will expect it to rival the PCM96. I know that's my thinking. If it doesn't, why wouldn't one just take the next step up and get a Bricasti or PCM96? It probably won't run more than a couple of instances in a decent mix if it lives up to the price tag.

Seems I know nothing since I didn't even have the right number of digits in that pricetag. At least I got the dollar sign and the last two digits right. :rotfl:

This is the real deal, the sound and editing capabilities. I've been talking to the developer over at Gearslutz. And the demos sounds awesome.

Where did you hear demos? No surround - can't justify it.

If it actually sounds the same as the hardware unit, then it's worth every penny, because even two instances is more than you get with a Bricasti or PCM96 (in Windows), and at half the price.

Edit:

I can't see anywhere that says 64bit OS, so is it safe to assume that it works in a 64bit host?

yes, but the developer said it's not scaling that well on Vista. He says Windows 7 will be much better. He also said he was running 6 of these on a G5.

I think it's totally worth it if the quality is the same as hardware. Besides I could sell my 3 Nuverbs and PCM90/80's and make a little profit I think. :D

bahumbug!

This is awesome to me. I'd love to get rid of my hardware verbs. So much more convenient to have total recall. If the quality is there then it's a nobrainer. The developer says its the exact same code as their hardware and the price reflects that. I will of course try the demo first.

Stacey,

I am sure they will be great, my comment on it being a non event is that IMO they have been unrealistic about the price.

So for me.. its a ...

I understand. yes there will be a demo version. I am pleading for a beta right now. :)

I think the price is about right when you consider that even with the hardware version you are still paying for their software code and paying extra for the hardware components whereas native you don't have to pay for their hardware to run it. Makes sense to me as long as the plugin is the real deal. Of course I wish it was more price sub 1k.

$ 1899 ... € 1330 .... Hmmm... for that price I expect top quality Lexicon reverbs. I had my SSL 4000 mixer for less... in VST :D

I think I wont be one of the first to buy it... let's see what is going to be written in reviews in the coming months :icon_cool:
The price will even get better when the dollar goes down a little more :bouncy::icon_redface:

EDIT: Woooow :eusa_eh: ... The demos on YouTube sound awesome :icon_cool: .... Hmmmmm, what reviews? :D

Someone who was attending there booth at AES said a Lexi rep announced the MSRP as $1499 and said the street price will be even lower. I am thinking it will be about $1299 street.

Release coming up next week on the 25th. Demo should be available very soon after. Very excited about this one. Word from the beta testers is that it is the real thing.

If this is true (which I find incredible) they are not that interesting for me unfortunately..

One word! Fucking awesome! :icon_eek3:

Seriously, the best reverb plugin ever, better than my Lexicon PCM80/90's and Nuverbs even.

Will you be able to take time to post any before/after samples as in "real mixes"?

Time for me to save up a bit of cash...

Tony Belmont over at gearslutz is giving out demo licenses. Try it yourself! :D

no effects in this bundle other than reverb and delay/reflections.

<Giddy with excitement here> These things really work. I was able to find a reverb that just sat right into a mix I've got, in hardly any time at all.

A few tweaks and it is perfect! It only took minutes to find a reverb and tweak it!

The UAD Plate 140 is still fabulously top notch in mixes where it fits right.

These Lexicon plugs sound great! I think there are a few bugs floating around in them, but I am going to be an early adopter.

Now maybe Casey of Bricasti can do plugin versions too.

In my mind, I am relatively happy with the software reverbs I currently use. I am VERY afraid to try something that I can't currently afford to find out I am dead wrong :-).
So I am keeping very far from the demo as well, and keeping my head firmly buried in the sand with my current tools :-)

The deed is done. :098:

It will be soup for dinner for me for a while.

This set of plugs is most certainly worth the asking price, and they are a superb value at the price I got them for. :D

I originally got a demo and subsequently purchased from Tony Belmont at High Profile Audio.

I will be retiring several other ITB reverbs now, and the remaining usable verbs will be used more for what they do best instead of trying to make them fit where they just really don't want to fit. :smash:
