Hi,
if some of you could please help me explaining which are the benefits of having UAD2 Solo (399 euros) instead of a RME Hammerfall DSP 9632 (311 euros) I would appreciate much. Since they are almost in same price range, I'm taking any advice.

thanks

LOL strange question. An audio card and a dsp card, but ok. I have roughly both (2 uad1's and a HDSP9652). The uad has great plugins but needs more investment then the selling price, as only a limited number of plugins is free with the card, so you will want to buy more plugins. The RME is a great audio card which most importantly has a great driver so you can run more plugins and/or at lower latency.
But the most important question is....what do you want to achieve..If it's just spending money, might I suggest charity:wink:.

:D
give me your bank account... hahahahaha

actually my m-audio audiophile 2496 needs a retirement... so I was wondering if is better to decrease my latency by changing it for a new soundcard or keep same card but working with UAD i.e.

Given that choice I would go for the RME. Using a UAD2 will most likely force you to up your latency somewhat, AKAIK the uad2 is no low latency beast:wink:! Only reason to go for UAD is if you think the plugins are really really that good and not available native elsewhere. And that is subject to taste, style of music, way of working, quality of monitoring/ears etc. If I could only keep one it would be my RME (my 2 uad1's were a real lifesaver on my old 1.4ghz PIII). But remember, depending on your daw's power, you will be able to run at lower latency and some plugins more, but don't expect a miracle. (like going from a PIV to a quadcore)
