Hello all,

I just saw Voxengo TransGainer. It's something in my array of plugs that I really don't have, at least not in a single plugin. I usually have to rack a few plus to do what this does. So I think I'm going to pick it up. Aleksey offers discounts for multi plugin purchases so I was thinking about getting a couple of others, but there are so many...

I have a bunch of uad cards and plugs quite a bit of their plugs. Hmm... what else... I use a lot of compressors for various things, EQs of course, and tons of delays (mainly ERs for ST field manipulation). Here's a list of the most used vendors in my collection:

UADs
NI Komplete
Ultrafunk Sonitus
Flux

I'm looking forward to getting a little more native with plugs since the live work I do on my lappy will be able to license the plugs as well according to a faq I read on Aleksey site. I can't find the latency specs on the site, and it is of some importance along with low sample buffer stability with Cubase5.

I just don't have the time to demo a bunch and decide so I wanted to ask you all here: What are your most-used Voxengo plugs? (To help narrow down the demoing process)

Thanks for any input you can offer.

I was looking for a replacement for plugins for the P&%*?#!$e platform I was desperate to ditch and found a couple in Voxengo's Varisaturator to replace Character and Redunoise to replace DeNoise.

Varisaturator is really nice (like Character) for making drums and anything else cut through a mix. Handily, it also does Inflatoresque type stuff.

My only experience with denoiser plugins is DeNoise and Redunoise so I can't comment on quality of either/both vs the rest, only that to my ears they are of the same quality.

Crunchessor is a really flexible compressor with lots of warmification options as well as clean modes. I keep threatening to get Pristine Space, but I have the watered-down Perfect Space that came bundled with Sonar 5 as compensation for my mistaken wanderings. :) I do have Deconvolver though which does what it says on the tin.

I hear great things about Elephant, but have never tried it cause I am happy with the flexible loudness maximising in Ozone 3.

The free tool stuff like Span and Sample Delay are good too, and there's a couple of interesting delay plugins there too that might tickle your fancy.

How does Crunchessor handle complex material, like stems? Good? or is it more of a solo track kind of compressor?

I read up on Varisaturator as from suggestion @ cnet. That looks very very interesting. Definitely on the demo list.

I use elephant daily. Love it even... use it before reaching for waves L1/2/3 or even UAD precision limiter when available (although that could be habit on occasions... how lazy!)

Use it mainly for protecting from overs for TV (rarely more than 1 or 2dB of limiting) but most of the time I would never know it is there!

Cheers, B.
