Hi folks,
I'm thinking of adding some plugs that require iLok and just wanted to make sure iLok and Syncrosoft play nice together in the same system.. I assume so, but wanted to confirm.. I also assume there's no known problems with iLok & UAD cards?
Thanks - SC

No probs here. But something tells me that this may depend on your MB. I have an ASUS P5 Q Pro.
Cheers.
2 iLoks, 1 syncro, 1 Flux-custom and 2 codemeters = no problem here.
ilok and syncro here on an intel XBX2 - no probs...
I've never had any problems.

Got 1 ilok and 1 syncro here - no problems.
Before that I had to do about 1 month of troubleshooting to find out that my firewall (Comodo) is incompatible to ilok. Both vendors refuse responsibility for that.
After that I tried 2 syncro and 1 ilok - endless problems. Even after 1 month no solution was found. Now I'm back to 1 of both and still think that those guys should pay me for the hours lost due to their not working product.

Why would you need a firewall on your DAW? :eusa_eh:

Yeah really. Hardware firewalls are so much better. :eusa_whistle:

Use ilok and syncrosoft dongle - only issues have been occasional usb port selections, but other than that, they play well together on my mac pro systems.

Do you mean when the mac doesn't see the USB hub? I've had that on every MAC system and OS I've had.
Where you boot up, it doesn't see the donlge and you have to unplug it and replug it in.
I think in order to get the MAC booted quicker, the OS doesn't USB scan right away.
Sometime when I boot, walk away and come back, it is all fine.
I have my keyboard and mouse on the Dlink 7 port hubs and often it says there is no KB and mouse detected.

Well, I'm poor. :icon_rolleyes:
I only had the money for one half-decent computer, and even for that I had to save every cent for nearly 3 years. So that has to serve as my DAW, my internet PC, my regular work PC and infrequently as my gaming PC.
Hardware firewalls and other shenigans are great, but I can't afford them. Right now I went to the lowest common denominator and use the inbuilt firewall in XP64. Keeping my fingers crossed.
