At least it seems to be. Limited hardware support at this time.

just noticed this is a fairly early morning post...... go to bed yet?
Is there really a market for this? The only thing I'd see myself running anytime soon that is traditionally mac, would be Pro Tools, and of course that is on pc now for quite awhile. I wouldn't mind having one mac in the farm, though..... just don't think I'd necessarily want a mac o/s on a pc unless all bugs were fixed. I've seen people having enough trouble on the mac with things, let alone a pc version.

If I ran PT I'd have to use a Mac, as RTAS is even worse in Windows than in OSX. In fact VSL doesn't even do a Windows version for RTAS, because it is so bad. :icon_lol:
Having said that, the performance in PT is so bad that it couldn't run my template anyway, so it's all moot at this point.

I'd only do mixing/mastering on PT if I had it, but then plugs are the issue. Glad to know that RTAS is even worse on PC.
I've seen my good friend here in Nashville have such a bad time getting RTAS plugs working right with heavy loads. I don't want any part of RTAS if I can avoid it. Digi just doesn't yet seem to want anyone going 'native' on them. Way too much $ to be made with their hardware. I'd like to see some pricing on the Pryamix stuff. I have a strong feeling it is high.

Hey Paul,
I know Digi are focussing heavily on improving the Native aspect of RTAS , I could tell you more, but I would have to kill you...
Re Pyramix Pricing, here in Oz Pyramix is in the same ballpark as PTHD , maybe even a higher , Pyramix Native is even more expensive than Sequoia i.e more than double Nuendo.

Yikes. So much for Pyramix/Masscore being an attractive alternative to PT HD.

not too surprising on the Pyramix pricing. So much of their stuff seems aimed at the pro broadcast studios. But if it has killer plugs in their own format, and the power they claim that is stable...... it still must be looked at.
As far as Digi furthering the rtas efficiency......man, they should have had that way better by now. Vin, are you saying they have finally got a legitimate focus for getting it done right now, or are just terrible at getting it to work all this time? I've always thought it was a biz decision to leave rtas as crap so PT users would get into the hardware.
