Hi,
Looking for stability, I was planning to switch my Vista64 for WinXP 64. Then I downloaded the free trial version in Microsoft website for a couple of tests. After installation of WinXp I noticed that I couldn’t install any of my drivers, such as: monitor driver, m-audio sound card, vga driver and some of my asus’s drivers too. After that I give up and I’m buying WinXp 32.
Did any of you have similar experience?

Thanks
:D

No. XP64 works much better than Vista64 here for DAW use.

No driver problems. You have to make sure the driver is written to work with XP64.

Edit: Your board will not work with XP32 and 12 GB. You're going to have to remove most of those sticks to be problem free. The most you're going to able to use at one time is 4 GB, and even that might have issues. XP32 is not the solution.

ok, D, thanks for advising.

atm I'm trying to reinstall all hardware driver on xp64. btw I use dual boot, so I couldn't remove any memory coz I use them on vista 64.

I any case I would keep vista 64 which works ok and remove xp 64 or try win7 64 for a couple of tests.

tks

I also use dual-boot with Vista 64, but I wouldn't use it for anything other than gaming and business apps.
