This is a workflow issue with in the midi editors. Basically if you have multiple midi notes selected in the midi editor that go off the screen to right, if you nudge the notes down with the arrow key.

You will be transported off the current window towards the end of the selection. It drives me crazy and I have to constantly scroll back.

Repro.

1) Make a midi track assigned to any vsti etc.
2) Play in a sequence of midi notes long enough to exceed your zoom factor when in the editor.
3) Open midi event in the editor.
4) Select all the notes or enough where the selection goes off the the screen.
5) Go to the beginning of your selection and nudge (arrow keys) the notes down (also works on shift+nudge down for the octave.)
6) See your screen advance off the page to the right?

Additional info:
Only occurs on down shifting. Also occurs with shift + arrow key (ie octave shifting).

Status: Confirmed.

Until this is fixed, try re-assigning a macro which is
Navigate = Down
Edit = Autoscroll
Edit = Autoscroll

Under the conditions which cause the bug, the screen will flash but at least you're at the correct place.
Under conditions which don't cause the bug, it seems to operate without side effects.
I have my down key only navigate the track list - not parts - on the project window and there appears to be no down side there so far.
Give it a bash.

Actually - it ain't perfect... as you'll see.
But it may be better than what it does now.

This is better:

Transport - Set Marker 1
Navigate - Down
Transport - To Marker 1
Edit - Autoscroll
Edit - Autoscroll

It's a bit of a matzo pudding but it's preferable to what currently happens. The project window seems to be immune too - regardless of whether your pref is for track selection only or not.
You can include a Transport - Locate Selection but it can impact the Project window, depending on your Nav Key prefs. It would send the Position Pointer to the head of any selected event. Could be useful to have it work that way. Choose yer poison.

Looks encouraging Ade. I have just resorted to dragging with a mouse. This is your just typical bug that you can workaround and expect. It's cool. Solo/mute on the other hand! ;) (sorry, had to get that in there)

hey Ade,

I will consult with the other mods about maybe allowing everyone the ability to post in the bugbase threads (but not be allowed to create new threads). THat might be a good solution to what you pm'ed me about.

(sorry, had to get that in there)

Discipline, Stacy, discipline. ;);)

BTW - it appears that one could lose the Autoscroll. It's just a habit I've got into when using positioning macros to make sure the page doesn't 'stick'.
