I don't know who may be interested, but I just got an email from NI............. $399 for the KOMPLETE package, meaning all their synths and Kontakt too. I have some titles, but still worth getting. For over a year its been around $1100-1200. If you feel you are short on NI synth titles, it looks damn good to me.

I have Komplete 5 and it is a great package, other than Guitar Rig 3 that crashes Nuendo, and has since it was released (still like it, just can't use it in Nuendo, at least here, on two different systems over the past 2 years).

Interesting that they are blowing it out for $399 - smells like Komplete 6 may be coming in August/September, but $399 seems lower than the "pre Komplete 5" sale a year to two ago, iirc.

Yep. Komplete 6 is around the corner.

I looked around the corner and didn't see it. Which corner are you on? See anything interesting?

...forgive my lame sense of humor....

Sure, K6 or some other software of theirs is around the corner, BUT.............. really, this is about the most soundware I've EVER seem at a price like this.

Yes that's a fantastic deal. I already own Komplete 5 but a friend of mine just picked it up for £350 in the UK - if you don't already own it buy it now! :)

Do they offer an upgrade from K5 to K6? If so, anyone know how much this would be?

I have the same problem with GR3 with high memory usage since I installed the /3GB switch. It had a problem before without the /3GB but wouldn't crash Cubase, it just wouldn't load when memory was approaching 2GB.

The reason for me posting is that I've tried wrapping it in a few things that haven't worked, but I haven't had any crashes when testing it in the demo of the jBridge wrapper in XP. Early stages, but if you have a project that you know crashes when inserting GR3 and pressing a couple of presets then it's worth a bash. Early days though as I say.

NI know about it though, it's bug #41212.

Has anyone here tried the NI Komplete 5 pkg. (especially GR3) in conjunction with other DAWs (like Reaper)? I know I should probably post the question in the "other DAWs" forum. But since this thread is about the Komplete 5 sale...

Softy - I haven't tried all of the synths in Komplete 5 but so far all I have tried work fine in Reaper, even with the /3G switch (Kontakt, Massive, FM8 are the ones I've tried I think).

Captain Caveman - I truly think Nuendo has memory handling problems. The /3G switch worked better here than not most of the time, except for plugins that aren't happy with it.

Well, I guess I should go ahead and order it then. Does anyone know whether or not it can be ordered through dealers (where one might get an even better discount) or does it now have to be ordered online in the case where the dealer no longer has it in stock?

All retailers I've seen have the same price of $399. Audiomidi.com has it for that. I don't think you'll get a better price. Kontakt 3 sold for more than that alone.

I got mine last night at the Guitar Center in Nashville. They are selling very fast. Don't know if they are serious about the 'while supplies last', but these things a flying out the door and I can see them running out at this rate.

Now to get some more hard drives and ram.........bass traps come tomorrow........... gettin' more comfy in the new place.

For sure, its a great price!
In nuendo, it all seems to run great except for GR3... Kontakt 3.5 seems to be far and away more stable than Kontakt 3 was...prob due to the new memory addressing architecture.
In all honesty, it runs very similar in Logic 8, though I don't drive it nearly as hard as I do in nuendo. And in DP, I've only ever really used Reaktor, which seems to do great. Certainly no crashes from that. Logic seemed quite stable as well (I'd be running more absynth, elektric piano etc than Kontakt in there...). And GR3 doesn't seem to have the same stability problems in logic that it does in nuendo.

YMMV of course. My experiences in nuendo with the whole package definately range from the sublime to ridiculous. I've had days when its been unusable for whatever reason, and other weeks where its rock solid. Go figure.

cheers, Brendan.
