Did SB ever fix the "just before the downbeat" midi record issue?

Create midi track (preferable with drums)
put L, R at (say) bars 2 and 10
set transport to Click On
Precount to On
hit Record (there will be a 4 beat count-off before bar 2)
Play a 16th note drum fill starting at beat 4 of the count-in.

Look at midi part... all drums from the lead-in are quantized the down beat of measure 2.

Is this still the way it works in N4?


Work around: Macro with Step Back Bar, play. record.

"Precount On" records the material input during the precount period. It plays back at the correct location on Nuendo 4 - i.e. the precount events are not bunched up in an incorrect location.

so if you play closer than an 8th note preceding the downbeat, the midi part is also preceded by whatever the preference is set to... leaving the precount events intact?
