:?:

I have the plug GUI set to R/W, the MIDI ch set to R/W, and the instrument track set to R/W. Can't automate any of the params. Tried Atmosphere, and Kontakt. What am I missing?

Thanks in advance.

hey riff...I have had this before!!! I am racking my brain trying to remember how I fixed it....from memory, the auto would be written, but the plugin wouldn't respond to it....if I then drew in auto with my mouse the plug would respond....

I cant think of any pref, do you have a auto option to set plugins/inserts to auto-safe in cubase??? We do it on the N4 auto panel - but I dont think you guys have that right?

Hmmm....if you create a new session from scratch does this problem happen? Or just in this one project?

Hey SAM

"if you create a new session from scratch does this problem happen?"

Yes.

"do you have a auto option to set plugins/inserts to auto-safe in cubase??? "

No - there's Instr use automation read all/write all - that's checked.

I am a little confused - should you not be able to do this? When I try it, Cubase doesn't even recognize it as being done; there is no undo write automation available in the edit menu. :eusa_eh:

hmmm...weird...so can you automate the instrument if it is in the VST rack and not an inst track?

No - that's where I can not do it, from the vst rack.

Any inserts on intr tracks, or any other tracks can be automated. The instr in the vst rack can NOT be automated. Are you not supposed to be able to?

Hmmm - I can automate Cubase plugs loaded in the Instrument Rack, but not 3rd party plugs. Nate, have you tried a 3rd party plug?

Ok, I think I know what you mean, but it's not what I mean. You mean this, right?:

Yeah, that works, but what I can't do is automate the plug itself. Is that not supposed to work?

What do you mean by the plug itself?

Meaning I want to adjust the params on the plug itself; I want to click in the plug GUI and make the adjustments there.

For example, Atmosphere has some params that I want to automate, which are not in the Instrument channel's dropdown, nor in the "add params" dial. I guess that's why they can't be automated....:eusa_think:

Like, for example, the Master Filter:

You should be looking in the lane that says Bypass in your SC.

Huh?

Ok, just got off the phone w/tech support.

"If you can't do it, it can't be done."

I guess that settles it.

He did tell me to check with the vendor, so...

Jeff...

I own all the Spectrasonics stuff myself. To be honest, I never tried to automate like you are attempting to do. So, I will check tonight and post later.
